Renewal

A short poem on the nature of possessing an unshakeable hope through both desert seasons and seasons of plenty.

Can a day but gladness bring?
Warmth and light,
Hope and life; come.
Let us greet the sun and sing!

And days on which darkness falls?
Cold and dark,
Suffocating;
Splintered limbs kick at the walls.

Resolved then to a bitter fate,
Heart like stone
There a voice; warmth.
The King's son in such a state?

Born up as on a feather,
Bones reset;
Cuts cleans'd; come.
Let us greet the Son together.
